Bugaboo : Cameleon 3
The Bugaboo cameleon³ boasts style and substance. It’s the sort of pushchair that style-conscious mums and dads might want as a complementary addition to their personal fashion aesthetic. The fully-loaded pram is an ideal all-rounder and suited to babies from newborn to toddler. It’s also great to use on straightforward paths as well as “off road” on grass and stony, muddy bridleways. Thanks to many years of design experience, the Bugaboo cameleon³ is easy to use, versatile and built to last.
Suitable from birth up to 36 months, the pushchair has lots of beneficial functionalities that make the life of parents that little bit easier. For example, it boasts a one-hand release carrycot, an aesthetically pleasing precision stitched leather-look handlebar and carry handle that’s very comfortable in your hand, and a safe, secure five-point harness with height adjustable shoulder straps. Babies will also benefit from the mattress with aerated inlay while the foam-filled rubber tyres offer extreme comfort to your bundle of joy!
Without any doubt, the bugaboo cameleon³ looks good. The Dutch company, which launched in 1999, has gone from strength to strength and the experience it now has can be seen in both the pushchair’s build quality and its fashionable “good looks”. Indeed, the company has teamed up with designers like Diesel, Missoni and Marc Jacobs to ensure it positions itself within the luxury market. But it’s also practical too. In fact, the bugaboo cameleon³ has all the facets you’d want from a good, all-round pushchair as well as a sense of style.
The slim, light chassis has a minimal look that’s pleasing on the eye. The handle height can be adjusted just as the baby’s seating position can be manoeuvred depending your requirements. The seat frame (which doubles as a carrycot) has three recline positions from totally horizontal to upright. Comfort also comes from the wheels which are six inches at the front and 12 inches at the back. Only the front wheels feature suspension which can be adjusted while the wheels can also be locked with a bonus being the ability to have them rotate180 degrees to 90 degrees instead of the full 360 which isn’t a feature found on every pushchair.
This all adds up to a fluid ride. It literally glides across pavements like very few other pushchairs I’ve used. By daughter loved it and actually had a good long nap on one extended walk. The bonus with the bugaboo cameleon³ is that you can easily take the pushchair onto grass too while the front suspension system helps when navigating cobbled stones or uneven surfaces on bridleways and other countryside surfaces.
I was particularly impressed with the quality of the bugaboo cameleon’s build. The seat is very comfortable and its manufacture using a finely woven, durable canvas means longevity is assured. It isn’t as easy to wipe away spillages or mess as some other prams but you’ll quickly forget about this when you consider the comfort your baby will enjoy in this snug seat. This is complemented by a robust aluminium frame that will ensure the bugaboo cameleon³ remains part of the family for a long time.
