Fugoo & Fugoo XL

Fugoo Review Web LinkWhen sound quality is the main attraction, the Fugoo portable Bluetooth speaker packs a real punch. We haven’t heard better sound from the portable Bluetooth speakers we’ve tested as this brilliantly packaged piece of technology delivers an unrivalled sound stage distinguished by clean highs and deep bass.

But the Fugoo speakers go much further. Available in “normal” or XL, the speaker can be styled around your tastes with “jackets” giving it a character that works alongside your personality. It means the Fugoo offers aesthetic advantages over other Bluetooth speakers while still packing fantastic sound.

Under the hood we’ve got 8 symmetrically-placed drivers powering hardware that’s geared to offer a fullness of sound you only get when treble and bass are clearly defined. Here, tweeters hit the high notes with aplomb while two mid/sub drivers take care of the middle ground as a pair of passive radiators give oomph to low, rumbling bass. It’s impressive and it brought out a smile in me.

It might have had something to do with Michael Bublé singing: “You make me feel so young, you make me feel as spring has sprung” which, it has to said, sounded as good as ever from the Fugoo. But we were truly wowed by the speaker which fills a room with sound at top volume without any noticeable loss in quality.

If this wasn’t enough, you can tailor your Fugoo to your needs. The Fugoo Sport, for example, has a mounting socket for use on a bicycle while it also has a waterproof housing for all-weather use. Battery life is great (potentially 35 hours depending on your usage) and the speaker provides integrated use of Siri® or Google Now™ to play your favourite music via voice control.

Tried the Fugoo Sport and was amazed that such powerful bass and clear vocals could come out of something so compact. The battery life will easily last a full day to 2 days on full volume playing your favorite tunes.
